Extra DVC points....

Not so sure if this is the right thread to ask my question. We will be going to WDW next month for our annual vacay. It looks like I will be having some extra points left over which I need to bank before the end of July (DEC UY). I would prefer to list them for sale and am nervous as I have never done this type of a transaction. ...........How and where do I begin to list them before my July 31 deadline....also do you recommend doing this. I just want everything to go smooth. Thanks for your input!

I would look to do a transfer it's the lowest risk . There is a rent/trade forum check that out , you can list your points there . If you rent you have to do everything in your name .

You may also want to do a search of the DVC Forums for posts on renting or transferring. Many of those will be helpful to you.

Since your time to arrange for a rental is very limited, yu may want to consider working with one of the point brokers, such as Daddio.

I had to edit your post to remove specific details - DIS policy does not allow rental posts (or any that could be construed as such) anywhere except on the R/T Board. But general questions on the process are always welcome.

I was in the same boat as you as I had a very limited number of points available. I contacted Daddio but his minnimum was to high for the points I needed to transfer. I ended up listing them on the Rent/ Trade board and was able to arrange a transfer with 4 days. I used paypal for payment as I felt this offered the buyer protection as he could always dispute the charge if I never transferred the points and it offered me protection as I could see and verify the payment. Everything went very smooth and all parties are happy.

To post your points on the Rent/Trade board you are going to have to pay to post them because you don't have enough posts in the last six months. You'll find that out when you read the sticky threads at the top of the Rent/Trade Board.

We transfer points and it goes pretty smoothly. Like the previous poster, read about it in the stickys on that thread.
