Extra Dining Hours (EDH)?

I think this is a great idea. I'm hoping it becomes a permanent thing.

Sounds fantastic!

We don't really eat late, but it will hopefully free up some of the earlier spots! :goodvibes

We've made ADRs for park closing at several of the parks in the past. Sit down at park closing, have a nice, leisurely dinner and then have the park to yourself as you walk out a couple hours later.

What's new about this now? Can you make the ADR for after the park closes? Like say 10pm when Epcot closes at 9?

I am IN LOVE with this idea. I love the thought of watching illuminations, and then sitting down to dinner. I currently have a 8:45 adr at le cellier on April 29th. I would love to push it back to 9:15

Thanks for the link! :flower3:

:confused3 I always thought you could get an ADR close to 9 PM at Epcot already (8:50 is the latest I have seen when doing online ADRs). By the time you eat and exit the restaurant, it would be an hour after the "official' park closing time. I assume the Beta Program for this new ADR offerings will be from 9 PM - 10 PM????? So, the people making an ADR close to 10 PM, won't get out of there until around 11 PM. You might as well be serving breakfast by that time! :rotfl: I may go over to the Disney site and try making some "dummy" reservations to check it out. :surfweb: (I won't booking anything. Just see what is offered.)

 I have found that they need extended dining hours in parks that have Evening Extra Magic Hours. If they were smart, they would test that theory. We've been to the parks numerous times during EEMH and want something more substantial to eat than ice cream and popcorn. Having one sit down restaurant open during EEMH would be nice. Also, that would be a nice extra perk for onsite guests. JMO :wizard:

I am currently reading it as an extra hour in which you can make ADRs after the scheduled park close.

After all, most real dining establishments don't close at 9pm...it could open a lot more tables and help alleviate the problems getting ADRs at popular locations.

The only problem I can see is that it appears you need to ask for the extra hour time - they may not offer it. At least the way I'm reading it. How many will know about it? Or is it a viral thing, where those in the know get first crack at it? :)

I would never eat late enough to take advantage of it, but if it helps with regular-hours availability, I'm all for it.

:surfweb: I played around with the online ADR system and was able to get an ADR at Coral Reef for as late as 9:50 PM. I know this is only a test and being offered during a peak week. Hopefully, they will extend this to other restaurants (besides Coral Reef, Garden Grill and Le Cellier) and other peak weeks (Thanksgiving and Christmas) in the future. :wizard:

 I have a question, will the Disney Transportation be running two hours after the official park closing time due to the patrons in the restaurants???? If I got in for a 9:50 ADR, we probably wouldn't be done, paid the check and out of the park before 11 PM. How would we get back to our Disney resort?????? I'm just curious of the logistics for an after-park hours ADRs like they do for the pre-park hours ADRs. :wizard:

Jennifer, I like your idea of having extended dining hours at parks that have evening extra magic hours. You also bring up a good point about Disney transportation.
