Extra days!!!!

Thank you so much, United, for being so stinkin' expensive! My flight from Winnipeg to Orlando in Sept/Oct was going to cost me $705. I had already booked my daughter's flight using Aeroplan points, but there was only one aeroplan seat available on the plane so I was going to have to pay out of pocket. For a while I was playing the waiting game, hoping for a seat sale, but the plane from Chicago to Orlando was filling up fast and I didn't want to risk not getting on the plane!

So I started playing around with dates. I've just quit my job so suddenly it was possible to vacation when it suits us, rather than when it suits my boss. I visited the Aeroplan website and found that if we fly 2 days earlier and come home one day later, there were 2 seats available using Aeroplan points! It cost me $55 to change my DD's aeroplan ticket and it cost me 25000 points and $88 for the taxes for my ticket. My TA got me 3 extra nights at POFQ for US$131 (taxes incl.). So now for virtually the same price as that ticket was going to cost me OOP, we are getting 3 bonus days in WDW!!

Great deal! We got $27 flights per person for our flight down to WDW in August ... it meant I had to add an extra day at the beginning of our trip but I was quite OK with that.
