Extra day passes instead of park hopper?

Hi there! We are planning our first trip to Disney and are wondering what to do about the park hopper option. we plan to be there for six days...if we don't get the park hopper option but instead get a 9 day pass can we go to a different park on the same day using one of the 9 day passes (we will have 3 extra passes to use if we get the 9 day opposed to the 6). Does this make sense? I'm afraid they won't let you use two passes in one day...kwim?

Thanks for your help!

Jodi

This comes up often, and the answer is that if you want to hop, you must buy the hopper option. That is why the extra days are so cheap. If you could do that, no one would buy the hopper option!! To quote the official description of MYW base tickets:

"Magic Your Way Base Tickets give each member of your travel party entry to one Theme Park a day each day of your ticket."

That's it..to visit more than one park per day, you must have the hopper option. One poster said she planned to do what you are asking about, and when they tried to enter the MK on the last evening of their trip after a day at another park, they were refused entry unless they bought a new one-day one-park ticket. Her kids were sorely disappointed, as was she!

Thanks Sue

Have you or anyone else found the park hopper pass a necessity? I am thinking if we do a park in the morning, come back to hotel, rest etc, we will want to go back to a park in the evening and it might not necessarily be the same park. Have you found this to be the case in your visits?

Thats exactly why we have hoppers or AP's. We do not like being in the same park all day and hop to a different one, plus if one park is jammed we go to a diferent one. This way it feels like there are 8 different parks. We sample all the parks for am visits and all the parks for pm visits with the pool break in the afternoon and a couple of down days during our vacation.

We always get the PH-It gives us the freedom to change parks and dosen't cost much more per day. We've even been able to see the Wishes fireworks at MK and rush (and I mean rush) to Epcot to see Illuminations. (Whew-were we tired!) But it was worth it. Also, since we go in off-peak times for the most part, most of the parks close early and it gives us the option of finishing the day at Epcot to see Illuminations or even have dinner. Also, with EMH it gives you the choice of going to an a.m. EMH and leaving that park if it gets crowded-all those guest WITHOUT PH have to stay there. And with EMH evenings you don't have to be at the same park for up to 15 hours-again I'll point out we go off-peak and the crowds (lines) are not a problem. I think the only time, recently, that we've not hopped was when we spent the day at AK.

On our last visit, my sister came for the first time. We did a lot of hopping the last day so she could see more sights. We hadn't been to MK in the daylight yet-and she needed to get those all important pictures.

All that being said, I just like the freedom of not having to stay in one park on one day. Just MHO.

We always get the park hopper option.

We look at it this way....if we are spending all this money for our Disney trip, we might as well spend just a little bit more & have the hopper flexibility. For us, being able to go to a different park in the evening does make the trip more enjoyable.

MUST have Hoppers!!! I wouldn't buy anything else ever. I always just budget it into our vacation, period. :Pinkbounc

I love the flexibility. I've been to a park when it was packed and been able to just walk out and head to another park.

I love ending my nights at either Epcot or at MGM for Fantasmic after to the early entry at MK.

I wouldn't say that the hopper option is necessary but I like having it and use it everyday. It's so nice to be able to visit the AK in the morning and afternoon but know that I'll be able to hop over to EPCOT for IllumiNations that evening. Or to be in MK for morning EMH and head over MGM in the afternoon when the MK becomes too crowded for our taste.

If I had to cut costs, the hopper option would go but only with much regret.

We like to avoid as much of crowds as possible. With park hoppers, if the park we're at seems busy, chances are the other parks are not, and we switch. (our luck - we always plan on going to the park that everyone else in the world is going to also, lol!)I'm not sure this works in the summer, but the first two weeks of Dec. is a great time to park hop! Another vote for Park Hopper Passes! It was just nice to have the availability there if we wanted it.
