Extra day of passes worth it?

We prefer to do a resort day on check in. We have young kids and it lets them settle in to the room, swim lots and just relax for an early start the next day. If my kids weren't into the pool and were older so could hang later we would consider a short evening in the parks for cheap price.
Addin a day is easy once there. The downside is, you will not have any FP for that day then since you can only book as many days as your tickets. So an afternoon arrival with no fastpasses could be less enjoyable. Same day FP choices would be slim by afternoon I assume.

We're making our first trip down from NC in late Jan. Will get in on Mon afternoon is it worth the extra $30 to have park access on Mon night?

We are driving from NC in a few weeks, we normally get up around 5am and get on the road by 6am, hoping to arrive around 4pm, by the time we get checked in, get in our room, etc. we are usually on our way to Epcot by 6 at the latest. We have a chance to hit one of those Tier 1 rides, usually TT, our daughter's favorite, do a couple of meet and greets, grab a snack at SEASONS, and hit Spaceship Earth on our way out. We still are back at the hotel by 9:30. Its personal preference, since we leave early on checkout, we always start out this way.

This year, since my DH and I are getting older, we are doing it a little differently by leaving around 1pm the day before, spending the night at the GA/FL line, and having a restful night before the short drive, so we will see how this works in comparison.

So my answer for our family is YES.
