When I booked my reservation I put in a request for the extra cleaning of the room , should I call the hotel too make sure it's noted

1) There are two true levels of "extra cleaning".
2) OK, there is a third --- for when people just say the want, "extra cleaning".
3) So,
. . . Which did you specify?
. . . What did you ask to be done?
. . . Why?

I asked for the allergy cleaning

I asked for the allergy cleaning

1) NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
2) You need to be more specific of you get the "mild cleaning".
3) There are lots of allergy types and allergy sensitivities.
4) If you wish, send me a PM with your allergies and I will tell you how to ask.

NOTE: As I mentioned above, the are different levels of "extra cleaning",
and the are VASTLY different. Think of it this way: You are coming to my
house for dinner and speak of allergies. So, for an "allergy cleaning", I hit
the vacuum harder and use Endust for dusting instead of Lemon Pledge --
where you really needed me to wash the couch cushions and use all fleshly
washed towels.

If you are staying on property, you want to request the VIP cleaning, which is what we did.

Did you call the resort directly or just note it in the reservation??

You can't call the resort directly. You are calling a call center whenever you call the number for a resort. Even if you are in the room and call the front desk from your phone, you are calling the call center.

I am interested too. My husband will be doing in room dialysis in the evenings and we would like to have the room as clean as possible(dealing with his chest catheter we wear face masks and gloves). I didn't even realize that it was possible to have an extra cleaning. What should we ask for in our situation and how do we ask?

you note in the reservation and call the resort the morning you arrive to make sure it was done, as it takes several hours.
