Extra charge for kids at Royal Pacific or HRH?

From what I understand RPR and HRH do not charge extra for children. When I try to book (using a non-Loews website) there is a price difference if I book 2 adults versus 2 adults and 2 children (aged 4 and 7). If I just book for 2 adults in a queen/queen room will there be an issue at check in if 2 kids also turn up? Thanks!

No, there is no extra charge for children, only adults.

Yup, you will be fine. You are allowed 2 adults and 3 children wihtout any extra charges in a queen/queen room.

Thanks everyone. I am using ratestogo to book. They had a 20% discount in addition to the stay more play more rate so I booked 7 nights in a Queen club room for a little under $1600 US. I think this is a pretty good deal?

depends on your dates if that is a good deal.
hotel rates vary based on dates needed.

when i used the smsm promo, i had a 30% room discount.

What are the cancellation and change policies with ratestogo? If the rates go down, do they let you change your rate with them?

i looked up that site and was reading the specifications.
i stopped when i got to the viruses portion.
they state that they try to prevent viruses but can not guarantee that.....

it looks like a third party provider set up which would have some restrictions if the op wanted to modifiy her room rate.
i am thinking everything would have to go thru their HotelClub for that.

When booking that far in advance, always make sure that there is no chance that you are going to be changing plans. Often, those places will charge a per person fee for any changes or cancellations or they can also expect you to be paying upfront. I looked at the site to see if there were any such charges but it just says to make sure you pay attention to the fine print when you book...it doesn't give any details.

I'm always leery when a site offers a deal that seems too good to be true. That extra 20% has to come from somewhere.

That says it all to me.


I like booking directly. I use this page to start from, as you can see all 3 hotels at once. Loews has really good change and cancellation polices for room-only bookings. I haven't yet found a better price elsewhere, and I also like getting "status" with their loyalty program, which you can't do if you're booking from "outside".

Thanks everyone; I will have a look at all my options.
I have used rates2go in the past and they sent me an email with the 20% off code. According to the fine print there are no charges from the hotel to change or cancel a booking, but rates2go charge $25 AUS up to 5 days before check in. After that there is a larger charge - maybe around $250-300AUS to cancel. I will also be purchasing travel insurance so will be covered for anything major nearer to the trip.
It looks like such a great resort - can't wait!

Gabs, from what i read on that site, you don't always have a person to contact if you need to.

it stated they do not have someone to call all the time in case you have issues.

booking directly with the hotel or thru Loews, you can call 24 hours a day and reach someone at the hotel that can help you.
if that isn't a priority for you, then no problem.
for me, i do want that access.


there were so many things to read on that site, i didn't finish reading all of it and the links.
