Extra adult for a few nights

10 day trip and and an extra adult will be there maybe 5 nights. Will they charge us the $25 for the whole stay or just the nights the extra adult is there.

If you are them when they arrive, no. You will just be charged for the nights they stay.

If you add them in advance so that they can use DME, or book TO 60 days in advance, you'll pay the extra adult charge for all nights.

We are doing this. Our travel agent contacted Disney, and they told us how to handle it. We added the extra adult for our entire trip so that we could make FastPasses for him. Either when we check in or right after he leaves, we will go to the front desk and tell them. So we should only be charged for the nights that he is there.

Unless he is arriving the same day you are I would re-think this especially since he doesn't need to be on a reservation for you to make FP+ for him as long as someone on the reservation shares his FP+.

We often have an adult after/leave before we do and IME if you add them to the reservation you pay for the entire trip and if your using a package everyone has to have the same number of entitlements.

We always book room only and just wait until they arrive and add them at the front desk and or let the front desk know they are checking out so we are charged the proper amount for the extra nights. IIRC 15 per night per extra adult in value, 25 in moderate and 35 at a deluxe.

We did this when our grown daughter surprised us for 4 days 2 years ago. I immediately went to the front desk and told them about the surprise and asked what I needed to pay. The CM at the desk said don't worry about it, and didn't charge me. I don't know why we got "pixie dusted", but it was very nice I also don't know if they do this routinely or not.

If you add the extra adult at check-in, you will only be charged for the nights the person is there. Once they are added to the room, they can utilize DME and EMH. If they already have tickets linked to an MDE account and they are linked to you through Friends and Family, you can make FP+ for them at 60 days even if they aren't on your reservation yet.

Thanks for this. He is arriving very early the morning after we get there, and to avoid having to deal with it that day, we're paying for an extra night. Also, this is a trip to celebrate our 30th anniversary, and I didn't want a CM to decide to give us a magical upgrade to a King room. I love him, but ... ;-)
