Hi all,

So i am well aware that extension cords are not allowed on board the ship and i won't be trying to sneak one on HOWEVER.

As I am coming from a different country an extension cord is by far the most useful thing we will use as we will only need one US adapter and can plug all out plugs into the extension cord.

What do we do with our extension cord when we go on our cruise. I don't want to throw it away as I will need to use it when we get off the cruise.

Is there an option to leave it in port and collect it when we get back.

Thanks.

The rule is that they cannot be used on board. But there are travelers in all different circumstances who may have items with them that can't be USED on board such as the situation you describe. I would pack it in my suitcase -- not trying to disguise or hide it. If they see it and confiscate it, they will let you know that you can retrieve it after the cruise. If they don't confiscate it, keep it in your suitcase and it won't be an issue.

I agree with citen however if you concerned you can pack in your carryon. We have brought ones on used before the cruise in our carryon with no challenge. Also if you need the use of one you can get one from Guest Services. My DIS has a Cpap machine and gets an extension cord from GS when on the Magic.

Will I be asked at check in if I have anything like that in my luggage.

By the time you get to check-in, you'll have already passed through security and your checked bags were turned over at the curb before that. If you don't want your checked bags opened, pack it in your carry-on. If you'd even "declare" it at the security point if that makes you feel more comfortable. Anything DCL confiscates (well, anything legal) is tagged and available for you to claim at debarkation post-cruise.

Enjoy your cruise!

We also will have one with us since we are coming from WDW.....and DH needs it for his CPAP machine.
I won't be upset if they take it, as long as he can get one to use.

If you need one for a CPAP (or any other medical need), I strongly suggest having it noted on your reservation and submitting the Special Services form. You will prioritized above other requests onboard.

Enjoy your cruise!

I will be sure to do that. Just had TA add it for our Princess cruise in Aug.
