Extending Tickets?

We're going to WDW in September for 10 days, followed by a Disney Cruise for a week. When we get back from the cruise, our flights don't leave until 9PM - so we really wanted to head back to the parks for the afternoon (we've got a rental car).

Our MYW tickets will have been expired for two days though, since we'll be 16 days out from the first day of use, which is just past the 14 days. I've contacted both the customer support line and the guest services e-mail to see if there's any way to get the tickets extended - we'll have an extra day on our tickets, we're spending all of our time at Disney, etc. - and so far have been told no, that's just not possible. Has ANYONE been able to extend the expiration date on their MYW extended past the 14 days?

I'm okay if we have to pay the extra money to go back to the parks for a few hours - it just seems silly, when Disney's already getting all of our money this trip, and we're only two days past the expiration. Also, we've got free dining, so we can't just switch to a split stay.

When they say that tickets expire after 14 days, they mean 14 days. Not 15, or 16. If your tickets are part of a package ( and youre still more than 45 days out) and you know that you can't use one of those ticket days, call them and change them to 9 day tickets. Any way you slice it, you will need a new ticket to go back to the park on the day you get off the cruise.

Agree with above - it is a firm no. If you can drop that extra day from your ticket, that will save you a few bucks. I don't think I would buy a one day ticket for a "few hours" at Disney - maybe use that day to explore something else like Kennedy Space Center, Orlando Eye/Sea Life/Wax Museum, Gatorland ... there are tons of other attractions in Orlando that are cheaper and better fit for a less than full day.

I was afraid of that - just wondered if they occasionally made an exception. Thanks!

It's like $20 - not even worth the effort to call, in my opinion. And thanks for the advice, but we're set on going back to Disney.

How about buying an Annual Pass?

That way, you could go back any time (and any number of times) within the next year.

An AP would cost about $140, or so, more than buying a 10-day Hopper ticket…
plus a 1-day ticket.

And, an AP is also a "Hopper."

Well then you would have to upgrade your tickets to APs or purchase one day tickets for that day.

If you think there is a chance of returning for just two days in the next year then by time you buy your tickets plus the one day ticket you break even.
