I am a big Disney fan but I admit I am very uneducated about FW. Are ther alot of campers that stay for an extended period of time? Is there a discounted rate for staying more than 30 days? 60 days? 90 days?

I watch the latest Travel Channel WDW Christmas with Samantha Brown. I thought I heard a man say he had been coming to FW since 1986. He had a camp site completely decorated for Christmas. Is this something that we should check out when we visit WDW in December? :santa:

Yes, there are folks that have extended stays and YES they set up extensive Christmas decorations.

However, Ft. Wilderness no longer gives extended stay folks any breaks.

I think you are allowed to stay up to 6 months. You must have several reservations of no more than 30 days each.

New for 2008 is that each night is priced individually and when you change "seasons" your price goes up and down with the season. There are still AAA, Florida resident, and Passholder discounts offered, but those are limited in supply and hard to get.

(It used to be, you could stay from Oct 1 - to Mar 15 and by timing your reservations correctly, you could have almost the entire stay at Value Season rate). They also used to have winter settlers' rates for stays of 3 weeks or more. Those have all gone away.
