Extended Stays for Conventions

My DH's work is having a convention in 2017 at the Boardwalk. Employees may book at a discounted rate a few days before, during and after the convention. If we wanted to take advantage of the discounted rate of the convention and then tack on a few days after (without a discount), does anyone know if we essentially have to check-out of the room and then check back into to a different room? TIA!

You will have two different reservations, so, yes, you would have to check-out and check back in. My suggestion would be to book the same room category for both stays and notify the front desk when checking in for the first one that you would like to stay in the same room. You will still have to check out and check in, but your chances of staying in the same room will be good. If you book standard for the first stay and water/boardwalk or CL for the second, they will not keep you in the same room.

Ditto. We had 2 seperate reservations at POFQ due to a discount only available for part of the trip. We had the same room category and notified the front desk when we arrived. We checked with them after eating breakfast on the switch day and they told us we could stay in our room.
