Good news, bad news!
Has anyone else noticed the extended hours at the Magic Kingdom for the first two Saturdays in December? They have been extended to 12 midnight, and they've changed the times for Wishes and added another showing of SpectroMagic! These hours are usually reserved for peak holiday periods, not the supposedly quiet weeks of early December!
Do you think they're expecting a few people?

Well I know that the 3.4.and 5th of December will be busy because they are filming the Christmas party. That would claim the 1st Sat of December. They may also catch up on what they couldn't film on the next Saturday.

ok, my question is,, what constitutes "busy"?>?? I was told that the week I am going (12/3- 12/10) should be the slowest time of year.. when you say busy ,,, how busy??

I am hoping i didn't make a mistake.....:bounce:

anyone else going care to meet up at all or try>??

you can e-mail me: Loretta4062@Optonline.net

I'm not sure I like the sound of the extended hours........
Sounds like Disney is expecting bigger crowds than usual. Question is....how much bigger? Any ideas? :(

I knew from the schedule that thery were going to be open till 11:30pm,, so, maybe 12 is not such a stretch...I don't know..I am starting my day out at AK and finishing at MK..

This may be an indicator of anticipated crowds on top of the Cheerleader competition that will mostly be felt at the value resorts and "MouseFest" that will be happening over the weekend.

I don't think people really have to worry too much about MouseFest because my guess is that people who love Disney that much will treat you the way they want to be treated. They'll be there to promote the spirit, IMHO. On the other hand, be prepared to be inundated with cheerleading routines in line when the competition is through.

Now the THING people need to be aware of is the MouseFest activity happening on Sunday at MK.

They are having some sort of competition, which as described on one of their pages, is an attempt to ride as many rides as many times as possible in one day.

I'd suggest an alternate plan for Sunday if MK appears too busy.

Resorts will be at or near capacity those 2 weekends. Probably a little slower during the week. We have been trying for 3 weeks to get a ressie for the weekend for Dec. 10-13. I had one, the only one available at a cm rate at the Sports. I called daily for 3 weeks and nothing available ANYWHERE at a CM or AP rate, then started checking the online site and nothing available at rack rate. I did finally nab a cm ressie that openned at BW. Most of the times the CRO CM would comment, after not finding anything, this USE to be the slow time....not anymore. I think MK wil be a zoo on those 2 Saturdays, and the weekends will be difficult. But nothing we can do about it, but go and enjoy.

Note to self: take a look at the mousefest itinerary again....
Bad new for us....we're going to MK the same day. Do the math, huge group of disney fans + EE for resort guest....ugh.

At least we're not doing the MVMCP on dec. 9th...that's the night the group is doing it.

I'm sure I'll see a familiar face in the crowd, as we probably know a few of these folks.

Thanks for the information, James. And will you please tell Linda that I remember her name is Linda. I have been working on remembering her name all year...lol. So if I see you this December, I won't say, "I'm sorry, I forgot your name again."

I guess more people are taking more vacations since 911. Especially since they may not have been to WDW since then.

I am really surprised that this isn't the most popular time to go to WDW. I guess with all the out of towners coming to WDW and all the locals wanting to visit, that the Saturday's will be more busy.

I'm still going to have a great time. I always do.

See you there, Linda and James.
