Extended family trip - rude to stay in different hotel?

But I digress. . . my sister has 6 children and I have one. There is no way I could possibly spend from morning to evening with them and not lose my mind. I love them all very much, but the chaos of that many children makes my DD and I so anxious and frazzled after a few hours, we would just have to have down time on our own. Being at a separate hotel sort of builds in a natural buffer.
I understand this completely. I have 5 children however when they were young I could only handle extra kids for short times. The difference between small and big families can be hard blend

Yes, my husband and I are only having one. And my sister's home can be very chaotic with her three. It's easier for me to tolerate my husband has a tough time with it. It is honestly disorienting for him. It's easier to be on an outing with them though than over at their house when they're running wild. My sister's kids are very well behaved on outings. They're great kids, just at home, they are more rambunctious because they can be.
