Extended Evening Hours (Deluxe Resort Guests)

Last year was our first year going to EEH at Epcot and it was so empty - it was great! But, it was also cold and windy (middle of March). We were prepared for that so it was easy for us to be there.

I’m interested to see how it will be this year in May. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’ll be the same way.

We didn’t have much luck last June. The first hour was clearing the clog of people who got in line right before park close.

This was our experience, too. The extra hours were useless - the lines were so long the first hour with all the guests getting in line right at regular closing time. Therefore, the extra hours guests waited until the second hour to get in line for the "headliners", those lines stayed long the entire time.

Not the only reason we stay as we are DVC members but the extended evening hours are pretty handy. We tend to get a lot done. We often do split stays (for a variety of reasons) and try to stay deluxe from Monday through Wednesday (though you can still take advantage of them on Wednesday checkouts).

One advantage that helps with Epcot extended hours is that Luminous is presented at 9 pm and the day guests can’t hop in line after it ends.

On our most recent visit, we watched the show from Norway then hopped in a very short Frozen line.

After that, we had plenty of time for 2 more rides on Guardians, with waits of about 40 and 30 minutes. Even after 11 pm, a couple of family members that had been waiting for a child swap were allowed in through the Lightning Lane entrance for a final ride.

Not a bad evening in my opinion.
