Express Plus Pass Questions for July

We are going to universal for one day during our July trip to WDW. The passes are 35.00 each for that day for the one park and there are four of us. Should I pre purchase them or are they available at the gate? Is it a pain to wait on line for them? If I pre purchase them, do I get them in the mail or will call?

We are planning to be at the gate before opening. Any advice appreciated.

I would NOT purchase the EP's ahead of time. It will be busy during July but you can purchase the EP's at either park and if you're getting there early, you should be able to do some of the bigger attractions w/o a wait. If you decide to purchase them in advance, choose the electronic pickup option. You would need the credit card used and confirmation #. There is usually no line at the kiosk and it's very easy. I did that with a HHN EP last year.

Thank you! I was worried that they may run out quickly in the summer at the park, but I would hate to pre purchase them and not be able to make it over to universal on the day we plan to go.

Do they sell them at random places around the park or only at the front?

The EP's are sold at gift shops at the Studios or IOA...there is signage outside so you won't miss it.

Do they ever run out of those passes? If I buy them fairly early in the day should it be okay? Also are they the same price in the park they are online? For our day in June they are $35 online, will they be that same price the day of?

The prices shouldn't change unless Universal expects more of a crowd than they're anticipating. That's how the prices are set...anticipated crowds. You should be fine with purchasing them earlier but still wait until you get there. Since the EP's are date specific and non-refundable, you can't get a refund if you don't go that day...for whatever reason. The only time I've ever heard of passes selling out are on extremely busy days and while the summer is busy, I doubt seriously the passes would be sold out on any day except maybe July 4th weekend.

You might want to check on getting a room on site for one night. It probably wouldn't be too much more than buying four express passes and you would get unlimited access for two days as opposed to one access per ride for one day. Just a thought.

Metro West: Thank you so much, that is exactly why I don't want to purchase them in advance, if for some reason our plans change, I'd be out that money! Thanks for your help.

Emile: I am staying at Disney on the 4/3 Deal and also in my DVC so I can't really change plans. I do intend to stay onsite at Universal someday, just not this trip. Thanks so much.
