In your opinions, do you think that buying the Express Plus passes is a necessity the last week of August? I know the East Coast kids are all back in school by then, I have no idea what the crowd levels are like.

We've been in September and walked on nearly everything, the EP would have been a waste of money. Is August the same?

Thanks!!!

Wait until you arrive to see what the lines are like before considering purchasing the EP. They are date specific and non-refundable.

Thank you! Once inside the park where can you get the passes at? Are they in the gift shops?

Here is NY we don't go back till after Labor Day. For years we enjoyed the last week of August at Universal. Park hours change closing earlier, but the crowd drop off is very noticeable.

Great suggestion to wait and see when you get there. :)

We live in Virginia and don't go back until after Labor Day as well. I definitely would not buy them until you arrive :)

the last week of august usually has lower crowds.

the parks have cut hours and the onsite hotels have cheaper rates in that time period.
