Express past at universal

It depends when you are going, how long are you going for, what things are must do for you and your tolerance for waiting in line. For example if you are visiting for 4 or 5 days you can hit almost everything waiting in standby even if is a super busy time.

We have gone to Universal when it was not a busy time (before covid), and bought the EP. However, we found that we really didn't need it except for a couple of attractions.
Now, since the mass exodus to Universal from disney, I would say there is no slow time and I would get EP. We now stay at deluxe resorts and get it for "free", which is nice.

If we can get a really good price at a premier hotel I will either stay there the entire stay or get a room for 1 night to get 2 days of EP's. This is what we did on our last trip and the one coming up next week. My sister is joining us so we went with ESS with the seperate bedroom, GREAT resort with an even GREATER price tag and then we got a decent rate at RPR for 1 night that will give us 2 days of EP's:) So, we will do 4 park days and have EP's for 2 of them. I have never just purchased EPs seperately for a day, I find their price outrageous, especially for a family of 4.

If you haven't made hotel reservations yet, look at the deluxe resorts and see if they fit into your budget. Quite often staying at one of the deluxe resorts (which include ExpressPass-it's one of the major perks of staying there) is less expensive than staying elswhere and buying the ExpressPass seperately. This totally depends on your budget and how many people you are traveling with.

I must admit, when I saw the topic of this discussion I thought it was going to be about a super fast back to the future ride ;) (express PAST)

There are two types of Express Pass. The regular Express which allows you to Express ride each attraction once and then there is the Unlimited Express that allows you to Express ride each attraction as many times as you want. The Unlimited Express is what is included with your stay at PBH, RPR HRH.

As was noted above the Unlimited Express included in the above resorts Is worth the increased cost especially during busy times of the year.

Universals popularity is on a massive upswing now as can be seen my the increase in Resort prices.

The Resorts or beautiful and getting the Unlimited Express with the stay is a plus.

If you have Premier AP you get Express after 4 pm.

Be aware that not every ride has Express yet. The new more popular rides like Hagrids, Velocicoaster etc are not Express yet. You can go to the on-site map at Universal Orlando and it will show what rides are included. Which is pretty much everything but the newest ones.

Cost out what you want to spend and go and have a great time. Universal has Resorts for every budget.
