We will spend a day in each park, but only can afford one set of express passes. Which park would you buy express passes for? universal studios or islands of adventure. thank you

Personally, I would do Universal- but that’s my favorite park. I would look at the attractions in both parks that take express and see which one makes more since for you. At islands- Hagrid’s and Velocicoaster don’t take express.

Universal - as been said Hagrid and velocicoaster are no express. Everything else can be done in the normal lines without too much wait if you plan it.

Thank you, I kinda felt the same way, I appreciate your time and opinion. Can anybody make a case for islands of adventure?

Just my opinion from our own experiences, but I feel like IoA would be your best bet for Express as they have more rides than Studios… at least it seems they have more rides. Hagrid’s and Velocicoaster don’t accept EP but I feel like this park is more crowded because it has more thrill rides overall. Everytime we visit, IoA always seems more crowded and longer wait times than Studios. We get so much done at Studios in the morning without Express. If I were you I’d check out the wait times for both parks on the UO app and look for patterns. Depending on when you are visiting, weekdays are typically less crowded than weekends. Just FYI, not sure when you’re visiting, but Mummy is down until late summer (this ride is in Studios).

Do you have young children going with you? I would do IOA for Hulk and Forbidden Journey but the Suess Trolley has one of the longer waits because it’s extremely low capacity.

But in my opinion it’s kind of 6 of one, half dozen of the other. Either is good.

Hello yes, two grandkids 6, 14. first time at universal. It is a tough call, I like hearing other opinions and appreciate my fellow travelers taking time to give theirs

How tall is your 6 yo? Will you be doing child swap? IOA seems to have more rides with taller height requirements that your 6 yo may not be able to ride. That may factor into your decision. As others have stated, you can make a case for either park. It just depends on your individual needs/preferences.
