Can we buy our tickets now and add the Express Pass on later or do we have to buy them all together?

You can buy it the same day in the park. If you aren't staying onsite and it isn't a busy time, you can wait until you get to the parks to see crowd levels and then buy.

Great!!! Thanks you for the info. I was more worried about the weather because if it is going to be raining we will choose a different day!

If you don’t mind the rain and wear a poncho, crowds tend to thin out in the parks on rainy days

Maybe the ep would not be a necessity then?

As long as it isn't "cold" and rainy together. :scared: And in general I don't think the outside rides tend to close just because of rain, but if there is lightning, they will close at least until the lightning is gone.

I'd like to piggy back onto this thread if I could (so I don't start another one). If you pre-purchase the express pass do you have to choose which day you plan to use it?? I see the price depends on the day so I'm assuming that's the case. Do they ever sell out if you try to purchase the day of or do they just give to whomever wants one? I seem to recall some other amusements parks that only have a certain amount of express pass type of things but they only have a limited number. So wasn't sure if Universal is that way or not.

Are they more likely to sell out when the price is high or low or is there no rhyme or reason? I'm going prime time spring break week and I guess we'll hopefully know what day we want to go at least a week before. Our park tickets are already purchased.

They can sell out when park levels are a 9/10 crowd

Spring break for some dates, major holidays (Christmas week to new year eve, etc) have sold out for a day ep

When the 3 hotels are sold out and the other two hotels also, it is possible the eps sell quickly

I have not seen both parks sell out for the same dates
One park usually still have some eps to sell

It’s difficult to predict

Ep prices increase based on the crowds in the park

Some will buy the ep and not really need them if crowds are manageable
