Thinking of adding it on.....is it worth it???
We are going in the beginning of August on a Tuesday to both parks. We have little kids and won't be riding any of the big roller coasters or scary rides. We will be riding seuss rides, et and others for 40 inches or under. We can go back for another day at the parks but are trying to do them both in 1 day. We have less than 6 attractions that are a must in both parks.

Does it really save a lot of time? if the answer is yes....we will be spending the $200

Thanks!!!!

Well, that is a tough question. I would look at the Universal site and see which of your MUST DO attractions have the Express pass as participating attraction.

We are one of those families who are willing to pay for the express type passes/flash pass at Six Flags, simply as we do not like to wait in line if there is an opportunity to cut that wait time. We are staying on site for the express pass benefit and early entry into WWoHP. Two hundred dollars is a lot of money to pay just for the pass that you will use only once. You might think about staying on site, it might be more economical. The passes for onsite guests are allow you to use the express lines as many times as you want.

The lines are much shorter for the express pass. Summer waits can be 5-10 min for the express lines. August is going to be a very busy time of year to tour.

I would wait and see how the lines are before shelling out the money for the EP. If you get there early and do what you want to do at one park, jump over to the other and see if you need it. With the attractions you described I doubt it would be worth it for the two park EP but if the lines are longer at the second park you go to, you can purchase the EP for that park.

go ahead and buy the pass. If you get it now, you could get them for around $25/each.

I really thought my money was well spent jumping the line for just 1 ride. Everything we went on was between 20 and 60 minutes, and I have a 7-year-old (also too little for the coasters). I can't imagine subjecting her to those lines.

I was thinking the same thing...I'm going the last week of August and doing Universal for two days probably a Thursday and Friday...I was thinking about getting express pass for one of those days but not sure which yet...Will they still be available when I go to the parks? Do you think its probably better to get it for the Friday since it will prob be more crowded that day?

If you are looking at $200 for the FOTL pass - I would definitely suggest booking a night at one of the on site hotels. Hard rock is AMAZING and a very short walk to the parks, Royal Pacific is beautiful as well - and a longer walk or boat ride to the park. The room may even cost less than the $200, and would include FOTL for unlimited times at both parks for 2 days (check in day and check out day), plus early admission to Harry Potter, and FOTL @ universal restaurants. If you go on a ride you love - you can go right back on (there are 2 passes avail for purchase - the less expensive one is one time per ride). As a resort guest you simply show your room key each time. Unlike Disney - there is no fast pass .... and some of the best rides are great for all ages (spiderman, MIB). Many waits are outside - and Aug is not only HOT but extremely HUMID!
Otherwise - you can wait to see how long the lines are and purchase the express right on site that day - but the price is based on how busy the park is.
Have Fun!! We LOVE Universal!
