Express Pass Queue's

Hi everyone,

So my wife are going to Universal Orlando for one day and we're staying at the Hard Rock to take advantage of Express Pass. We're being very ambitious and would like to ride as much as we can in that single day.

Because we're staying at the Hard Rock, we have Express Pass. I was wondering if there were any rides/shows that it has an advantage or disadvantage by using it?

For example, if there is a queue that you have to wait in line a long time once the express pass line takes you back to the regular line, I'd rather hit up that ride early so we aren't waiting long.

I hope the example makes sense...just trying to see if there were any helpful tips about lines to get the most out of our day.

We were there for three days at the end of August and I was actually surprised how quick the Express Pass lines were. I was expecting 10 minute waits and it was usually 1 to 5 minutes.

I had read ahead of time that the Express Pass line for Despicable Me is often 20 minutes or more. We did not experience that personally (we walked right in) but I think we might have just timed it well. We went in the early evening shortly before the parade. I think the line was longer earlier in the day.

We did find that the Rip Ride Rockit line backed up sometimes, and was one of the longer waits comparatively. At the very end of the night we waited about 20 minutes for that one.

And, of course, there are a few rides where you cannot use the Express Pass - with a party of two adults only the Harry Potter rides would affect you. So the very best advice, in my opinion, is to get the those three rides done early.

I have experienced the long Despicable Me EP line. I think the ride had been closed earlier, so there was a backlog of people wanting to ride it.

We also had to wait in a long line for Despicable Me with our EP. I also think MIB had a long EP line. Other than that, I believe Universal has the best EP/FP system of any Orlando park.

About how many minutes did you have to wait for Despicable Me with the EP? Thanks!

Yeah, it depends on when you're going. If it's not busy, there won't be any kind of line at all using your EP no matter what ride you're using it on.

When are you going

Going Monday, September 29th. According to Touringplans it should be slow. Plan is to go to Daigon Alley first thing in the morning, then zip around Universal, take Hogwarts express to IOA and take in everything there.

You won't have a wait in any of the express pass lines on that day.
