Express pass question (Another)

The Universal site says that you can get another express pass after

1. 2 hours has passed

2. The time has lapsed on your 1 hour window

3. You have used your express pass

How do they know you have used your express pass if you use it at the beginning of the window period. At Disney, they just collect them from you.
Do they scan the pass at Universal?

Also they give you two time frames to pick from. How far apart are they usually?

Last question. If you enter the park at 9am and get an express pass for
Doom Fearfall at opening, what time would you expect to get for it?

I want to ride the Hulk and Spiderman 1st , then ride Dr. Doom before moving on and grab another express pass for Popeye or Dudley.

Option 3 (after you have used) isn't available for the free express. They don't have the technology yet for that, so it's just the 1-2 hr window. The express pass machines will tell you when you can get your next express pass.

The two time frames are usually about 2-3 hrs apart. Example: early time 245-345. Late time 445-545.

Also, the earliest express time is 10am. If you go in at park opening, you can hit Hulk, Spider-Man, and Doctor Doom all by 930-945. I'd recommend you save your express for Dudley or Popeye, or get an express for later in the day for Hulk or Spider-Man so you can re-ride!
