Express Pass needed on 10/2-10/4??

We are coming to Orlando after a cruise departing from Miami and plan on using our free tickets from the Super Bowl promotion. I checked the prices at onsite hotels for 10/2 and 10/3 and $204 is the cheapest per night.

Can anyone tell me how long the wait will be, what the crowds will be like or if I will need express passes. I can get an off-site hotel much cheaper, looking at $29 per night at the comfort inn in lake buena vista.

We have been to horror nights in 2007 and are considering going on sunday night, but have not decided.

The crowds shouldn't be too bad during the day but the Studios will start to get busy in the afternoon as people start to show up for HHN. I don't think you would need the EP's during the day but if you feel the lines are too long, you can always purchase them that day.

Remember...if you decide on HHN on one of the nights you're going to be in the Studios, you can add the Stay & Scream upgrade tickets for a lot less than if you were just going to HHN. Also...if you're in the park before it closes and decide to do HHN, you can take advantage of S & S which will cut some of the wait times down.
