Express Pass in October?

I tried searching for the answer but couldn't find any. We're planning an October 2022 Disney and Universal trip. Looking to stay off property for both and get a house with a pool. Would the Express Pass be needed In mid October? Or worth it to book a hotel room for one night and not even stay in it, just to get the passes? As of now, we'll have 3 days in Universal, but definitely will have 2 in the least even if plans change.

Room prices usually higher for weekends due to hhn which is held on Wednesday thru Sundays at UO in October.
A throw away room could be worth it if you go when hhn is happening.
The studio side closes to the public at 5:00 on select days but IOA stays open to the public.

Monday’s and Tuesday’s won’t have the crowds as long if you stay away from Columbus Day

Fall break and HHN yes I would want express if i had 2 days or less planned at Uni. If you have several days you might not need it if you plan well and make sure to get to the parks an hour before they open.

personally in that situation I would get a throw away room for one night, you would have express for 2 days and early entry.

we go a lot in October and it is busy, levels 5-6 mornings mid week and much busier (levels 7-8) Fri-Sunday

Keep HHN in mind even if you aren’t attending. Early mornings after a hhn night are better because a lot of on property guests are sleeping in.
