Express pass good for park-to-park?

Sorry if this has been answered. I searched the boards but can't seem to find my answer. We will have one day park-to-park tickets over a holiday weekend. I'm thinking we might end up needing EP if it's crowded. Are Express Passes good for BOTH parks that day (I.e. I don't need two sets - one for each park)?

Also, conflicting advice on how to approach HP. Go immediately at rope drop or wait since everyone else will beeline there?

Thanks!

You can buy EPs for one park or both. The 'both' option is only a few dollars more than 'one' park. If you are staying at HRR, PBR, or RPR you will get the EP included with the cost of the room - in addition to early entry. It's worth checking the prices to see how they work out.

OP, compare the costs of booking a one night stay at hrh, rpr or pbh which includes the free ep, against the ep costs for one day p2p

Sometimes a throw away room comes out cheaper
It especially does if you have 5 in your group

And all onsite hotel guests are allowed the early entry to the designated park of the day

macraven, can you elaborate on the throw away room. I have a party of 5 we are doing one day park to park tickets and we are planning on buying the Express Pass so we can get as much done as possible. Traveling mid March during spring break so assuming the EP is a must. And we want the EP for both parks. Are you saying it may be cheaper to get a room at one of the onsite resorts to get the EP pass then to buy them with our park to park ticket? Thanks!!!

Exactly! check the rate for one night at participating hotels, book the room check in and if you want you can spent the night or not, but for the price of one night you will get EP+Early entrance. EP price fluctuates depending of when are you going and 5 EP can be much expensive than 1 night at a Universal Hotel

Only glitch would be for a booking party of 5, would be ages of the group

Two adults and 3 kids 17 and under have no additional charge

$25 extra charge for each person 18 and up registered in the room

Each guest has their own hotel room card
Even a youngster would be issued a card

Still it could be cheaper with a throw away room as you get the check and check out day for EE at all onsite hotels

and EP if at the 3 participating hotels

Two days of unlimited usage of the ee is a very sweet deal

If you have no plans to sleep in the room, you could use it as a break place during the day or just shower and freshen up before you return to other hotel for the night

Better yet, stay overnight in the room and do ee the next day

I would seek out the ticket sites and see which would be cheapest to buy

UO hotels do not link park tickets to the hotels

March will have crowds some days
The ep is the way to go

Thanks, guys! Decided to split stay and move to RPR from Contemp to take advantage of EE and EP. Actually doing two nights even though it negates some of the savings since only doing one day in the parks. But we can get up and walk in at EE which makes this HP fan Momma happy. And when Momma's happy.....
