Hi, I have a question. I just saw where they were having the grand opening for Harry Potter on 06/18/10 and I really want to go. I figure it would probably be a good idea to get an express pass for that day but should I get one as well for the US side that we are doing earlier in the week? I haven't been to Universal in a few years so would like to know what you all suggest. I know it hasn't opened yet and there isn't any way to know for sure but what would you do? Thanks! :thumbsup2

I would wait to purchase express until I got there.

I wondered about that but do you think the price will go up for express that day? I'm not familiar with the whole process but it looked like price depended on demand. Who knows if HP will even have that access..

It is priced by what they expect the crowds to be like.

No one knows for sure if the new Harry Potter ride will have access for purchased express passes. That is another reason why I would wait.

I doubt the price would go up but you never know. I would still wait until you arrive since Express Plus Passes are date specific and non-refundable.

Express passes will sell out, particularly for 6/18, if/when it's confirmed the pass is good for the The Forbidden Journey. My answer will be different if Universal decides to increase the price to $100+.

Pass may make sense even if it's not good for The Forbidden Journey. You'll be able to do the rest of the park quicker. Give you more time to wait in line for The Forbidden Journey.

IMO, even if Forbidden offers it, I wouldn't purchase the express soely for the ride. The line for the ride seems to be an attraction in itself and may be just as good as the ride. US PRESS states today that the express line would skip many rooms of the castle and lead you through a shorter and "less interesting" dungeon.
