Express Disembark for only one in group?

Hi,

Can only one member in your group choose to participate in the express disembark option? (At least I think that’s what it’s called). There are six of us in two rooms, on the Magic/Miami. DH and I were thinking it might make sense for him to go pick up the rental car, solo, and then come back to the port to pick up me and the kids and luggage. Would that work out? Would our 18 year old son, who is the only other person listed in DH cabin on the reservation, need to go with him?

Yes, one member can disembark early and the rest of your party later. And your plan makes a ton of sense.

Agree with above that the plan sounds like a good one. Anyone can take advantage of the express walk off, no requirement by the whole party or paperwork involved, just gather your bags and walk off the ship.

That second part is where I have a recommendation. Since express means you don’t put out the bags the night before, it means you take them with you as you disembark. If the rest of the group can handle the addition of your husbands bag(s), then he could just take a carry on off the ship with him. The rest of the group can retrieve the bags as normal when he is headed back with the car.

Just as a related note, only one person can sign up for Onboard Airline Check-in and Port to Airport transfers as well. I did it on our first cruise as my sister was staying on in Orland and our parents had driven.
