anyone else remember this it was wonderful - your folder would be ready - you just gave them your name and you were already be checked-in. No hassle at the front desk, no waiting in line.

I remember HEARING about that from our rep although unfortunately, have never been privvy to that privledge. Our rep told us we had a "seperate" check in area for DVC members only. When we checked into home (BWV) for the first time, I asked where the DVC check in was and was sent to the end of the line only to wait about 20 mins to check in. How long ago was the seperate check in? don't mind waiting my turn EXCEPT when you are "sold" on one thing and then find out its not that way at all.

hi spiceycat: i've used express check-out for years, but i've never heard of express check-in. can you enlighten me as to how we go about getting this service? thanks, dee

Express Check-in was a feature at OKW several years ago. It was available for only a short while. It was a nice perk, but as the resort gained more members, the feature lost it's practical use- as the lines were longer at the "Express" lane that in the regular line.
When it was started, it provided a fast means to get your packet and room ID.
We also had "Early Check-in " for a while at OKW. You could let MS know you'd be there at 10 AM and your room would be ready. Again, as more became members- the logistics became impossible.
I'm not aware that these perks were ever offered at other DVC resorts. It was sure fun while it lasted!

When it discontinued I ask why and I was told that not enough members were using. They said it was less than 15%. It was really nice once when the power was out - since my room was ready and the other were not (there must have been 50 people waiting) - I think that they received complaints about that and discontinued it. I ready wish that they would start that back again - I never had to wait at all just tell your name to the ms and receive your package your room key was inside. But you are probably right - too many people would want it but considering that you did most of the check in before you got there I think it would still save time.

I remember Express check-In. What a great perk!! You just went over to that desk on the far right and they gave you your completed packet. Wish we could still have that service.

We only experienced it our first trip as members. I thought it was a great "welcome home", and have really missed it. In September and December last year, I waited a long time to check in.
