Explosion

There has just been a massive explosion near my house in the UK, UK brides have probably seen it on the news. Woke me up at 6 am with a rumbleing noise, went to the window and there was a big explosion, the force of it knocked me over. It was at the oil depot so the fire is huge - flames are 200ft! My house is about half a mile away and my office actually backs onto it - i was meant to be working today and ive just seen my office - half the building has been demolished! Scary to think that 1 hour later and i would have been in it!

Makes me realise i should be greatful for what i have and stop getting so stressed over family members who are trying to cause hassles with the wedding, in the grand scheme of things it is so irrelevent!

Laura I am so glad to hear you're ok.
I saw it on the news first thing this morning. It looks horrendous.
I just hope those that are seriously injured will be ok.

wow, ive just seen a pic of my office on the website - http://www.herts.police.uk

If you look at the top pic on there my office is the big one that is on fire!

We had 4 people working onsite when it happened and miraculously they managed to get out unhurt!

We've been out all day so I haven't had a chance to put the evening news on yet.... I was going to watch the 6 o'clock (I usually watch the 5). I'm so glad you're safe. Yes, it does put things into perspective. Please be careful in the weeks that follow.

Wow close call Laura - I just read that all but a couple of pool fires they've all been put out. It's been reported that it's the largest fire in Europe peace-time, wowser! It was being reported on NBC news on Sunday when I got up.
