Exploring Resorts after Dinner

Will I get in trouble for exploring the disney resort grounds before or after my dinner reservation for that particular resort???? aka walk around pool, take pictures, beach at poly., etc???

No, you won't get in trouble for wandering around. I just did it in June when we went to O'Hana. We wandered all over the Poly just looking around.

You won't get in trouble and it's lots of fun too. If you have a later enough ressie at the Poly you might walk out onto the beach after dinner and watch the fireworks. They pipe in the music and its absolutely romantic. Enjoy!

That is 1/2 the fun of staying at a WDW resort...checking out all of the other resorts!! You can't swim in their pools, but the public spaces are just that...you are welcome to walk around and take in the sites!! Have fun

I particularly recommend Wilderness lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Poly and Grand Floridian, for those "When my lottery numbers come up" moments

No, they won't mind at all. You can pull up to the gate w/out resservations and tell them you want to tour the resort and they'll let you right in. That's a good way to check out the resort and decide if you want to stay there in the future.

We have explored other resorts even without dining reservations. We just tell the parking lot attendent that we are considering staying there on future trips and would like to see what its like.We have never had any problems with this.

We've also just told the parking attendant that we want to look around, and they don't have any problem with it. I really wanted to check out the Boardwalk last trip, but was nervous about parking there based on some of the stuff I read. It was completely fine. We even ended up walking to Epcot for a little while since it was so close.

We treat Disney resorts like attractions and try to visit all of them. Enjoy!!

We make a day out of walking around all the resorts and taking pictures. It's actually one of my favorite parts of going to WDW. I love going to have dinner at 'Ohana and walking on the beach as the sun sets and the castle starting to light up.... simply awesome!

If we have a rainy day, we ride the monorail for a while and stop in at each of the resorts on the monorail circuit: the Contemporary, the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian. We love doing this. We check out their shops and sit and relax in their lobbies and just have a good time. It's always been one of our favorite things to do, especially when it's raining and you need a break from the parks. (Wait a minute, do you ever really need a break from the parks? )

Last November, we wandered around AKL after breakfast at Boma. We were looking at some of the viewing spots down the various hallways, and the mousekeeping staff gave tips on where to go and offered to show us a room before we even asked.

Exploring the other resorts is like a special event for us. Almost like the 5th park at Disney.

wow, what a great idea. DH and I will be staying at CSR in a few weeks while he attends a conferece. I know I will quickly tire of laying at the pool by myslef and I am not ready to venture to the parks by myself, so now I have something else to do... visit the other resorts. thanks
