I have two contracts, both with Feb use years- one at the VGF and one VWL. If I transfer points from one to the other, can I use the transferred points to book at the 11 month mark? I have zero knowledge about this whole transferring thing, so any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You don't need to transfer because your VGF points can only be used at VGF at 11 months and the VWL points at VWL at 11 months.

At 7 months both can be use to book anywhere.

No, transferred points retain their home resort.

It sounds like you have one master contract and one add on contract. You don't transfer between a single contract, just between different member numbers (whether your own or another member's). If you had a different UY for one of the your two, you would have two member numbers. Since they are the same UY, it's our guess that they are one member number.

And from seven months and a day to eleven months out, you can only use home resort points at that resort. Transferred points always retain their resort and UY.

Changing topic a bit. Does it help to transfer points from the resort you are going to reserve at? We need additional points, I assume to use our non home points we need to wait until 7 month mark to use combined. Is it best to get the same month as our current UY? Kinda unsure of process and will be short of points.

Again, delete the details of your request. If you transfer points the same as the resort you want to book, you can book it at 11 months out. Because you are not going to get it at seven months out. Your points that are not home resort points for the resort you want to book won't even get used at eleven months out.

You need to make sure the points you transfer can either be used as is or banked to make the reservation. You cannot borrow transferred points. So it really doesn't matter the UY, just that you can use them for the reservation.

At the 11 month mark you could book some of the nights for your vacation using the home resort points. Then at the 7 month mark you could add additional nights using your other non home resort's points. You can even combine points for a single night at the 7 month mark if the have the same UY.

At most resorts you can easily book at the 7 month mark for most dates. We done it many times. It's true some types of rooms or views are booked by the home resort owners. AKV's club level villas are good example, there are only a maximum of 10 rooms so they are usually booked at the 11 month mark. During F&W I would think the standard view rooms at BWV will be hard to get at the 7 month mark. And we don't really know about VGF yet.

Different UYs - It's means that you will have to use a transfer to combine the points. And you will have different membership numbers for each set of points. I think it is much easier to combine the points if you have the same UYs. Different UYs means different banking periods too for each contract.

Along these lines, we will have two contracts both at the same resort but they will have different use years. Do we have to specify what points to use first or will both show up when we give membership numbers (will have 2 since different use years). No matter what we will be able to reserve at 11 months since both are at the same resort - right?

You'll have two separate reservations unless you transfer from one contract to the other. Just be careful about borrowing transferred points (you can't do it). You'll make the first reservation at 11 months out, then the second at the second 11 months out. You can't make them at the same time unless you transfer them. And transfers need to be done over the phone.
