Im sure this screams NEW Member!
I have a reservation for the week after thanksgiving. It was booked using 112 points, when I have 100/year.
IF I make a waitlist reservation for the next week after it would be cheaper at 105 points, so would the extra 7 points be able to be banked, or since they were "borrowed" I would loose them? Our banking date isn't until January.
Also you can only have one waitlist at a time correct? Like I couldn't waitlist at 2 different hotels? Or if I can would it only take the first available and cancel my other waitlist and my other reservation?
Thanks!

Any borrowed points stay in the UY of the trip. So those 7 are stuck. However, if you change the trip to one that uses less points, they will free up your current UY points that can still be banked.

You can waitlist two different rooms. If the room you want has different views, then each view has to be done on its own. For example, BLT has 3 views..SV, LV, and TPV. You could not waitlist all of them, only 2.

But, you can choose different resorts as well. If the room you are waitlisting is less than what you have, be sure to set it up to cancel 31 days out so none of the points become holding.

I want to make sure I understand the waitlist. I have never waitlisted before after many years as a member. I have a Dec use year and currently have a November reservation at SSR and have waitlisted BWV (probably a long shot but who knows - we are BCV owners and all booked up when we were ready to reserve). Anyways, my existing reservation is less points than my waitlist. Is there any risk to having my waitlist expire 7 days vs 31? Can I waitlist at both BWV and BCV?

No risk if the reservation you want will require more points than the one you currently have.

You are allowed two waitlists. Remember that there are three views at BWV and thus you could only waitlist for two of them. If you want to waitlist BCV, you could only waitlist for one view at BWV. The choice is yours and I have assumed that you do not already have any active waitlists.

Also, be sure your waitlists say it's OK to borrow if waitlist comes through. (I assume you have no current (2020) use year points that could be used as those expire on 11/30/2021).

I had a waitlist for a 2bd at Copper Creek and Boulder Ridge which were to replace a 1 bd at Copper Creak. Last night I noticed that the CCV waitlist was filled but it still had a waitlist for BRV. I cancelled the BR waitlist. I´m wondering if the BRV unit became available, it would then cancel the CCV 2 bd I just got. I am thinking it would have. I haven´t gotten an email yet confirming the wailist was filled.

Thank you! Yes I waitlisted for only one view and have it set up to borrow (I think it's only one or two points). I am usually someone who books at 11 months out, but after last year I was hesitant to plan anything too far out. We will see what happens. We are just happy to have something planned and to look forward too. If the waitlist comes through great. If not, SSR is great too.
