We are going to WDW for the first time April 8-12. My kids are 6 and 3(will turn 3 mid trip). The youngest won't be tall enough to go on some of the bigger rides so we will probably ask for riderswap slips for these. My question is: Do we have to use the riderswap slips right away? Is there a time limit they will enforce like FP. It would be great if we could ride some of those early in the day with short lines and save those riderswap slips for the evening after our break.

Thanks!

Thank you so much! So it sounds like we can save the riderswap passes and use them at any point throughout the day. That will help a ton.

:welcome: to posting on the DISboards, Erin!

It's a great feature! And the best part for you guys will be that your 6 year old can ride all his favorite "big kid" rides twice!

Rider swap is amazingly useful.

My wife has a great friend who goes to Disney regularly... but they don't use rider swap. The lady's husband takes the position of "if we can't all ride together, nobody rides." :confused3

I think they are missing out; my little ones have had a blast in the various play areas - which, incidentally, doubles as a nice break for them - while the "big kids" ride.

To each their own, I suppose.

We have two kids with a 10 year difference in ages. We went two years ago when they were 13 and 3 and the older kid loved it. He basically got to go back to back on all the "scary" rides.

Take advantage of it, it's a great deal.

Here is my boilerplate answer - and welcome to the DIS!

Just to avoid any confusion, there are TWO different things that some people refer to as "child swap", "baby swap", etc.

First, there is a formal system in place at most all Fastpass attractions that have a height requirement, called Rider Switch. Follow the link for complete details (and exceptions), but this is what most people will respond with for answers.

Second, at all other attractions, or at the Rider Switch attractions where a child simply chooses not to ride, there MAY be a way to accommodate the situation. However it is different at each attraction because of the different ways loading and unloading are handled which are often in different locations. Ask the greeting CM for what the possibilities are.
