explain how the taxi's work in Nassau

we are on the 6/5 cruise, in just 2 weeks!!

IN Nassua, we need to get to the Comfort suites, there are 2 adults, 2 kids,
please explain what the procedure is??

Do I walk up and say We need to go to comfort suites, I will give you x-amount of dollars up front? OR do we let the driver dictate the amount?

Are there taxi's at Atlantis to take us back to the docks?

I am not good in forgein countries, so I am worried about "offending" anyone.

The last cruise that I took was 2 years ago. The CM gave a presentation on getting around Nassau, where to shop, etc. The taxi's were 4.00 per person from the ship to Atlantis and vice versa. Just make sure you get a "clean" one. On one trip, when the taxi driver started driving and all these BUGS(guessing Roaches) came crawling out of his dash board (you want to talk about disgusting!!!!!!). I couldn't get out of cab fast enough!!!!!. The taxi's at Atlantis are much nicer than the ones at the port for some reason.

Make your way through the bombardment for Atlantis trip packages as you leave the port walkway and go into the gift shop. At the desk you will find numerous helpful folks for a taxi. Going rate should be $4.00pp plus someone in the cab has to anti up the $1.00 toll. Don't be surprised if you are not alone in the cab/van as the drivers wait for a full load. A couple $$ for gratuity and you're there. Cabs are also waiting outside Atlantis for the return. Same scenario. Go with the flow...but keep your wits about you.
