I have been reading about "concierge" on these boards but I have yet to get an exact explanation.

Which resorts offer it?

How do you request it? Some secret password?

How much more does it cost and what do you get for it?

Thanks for clearing this up!

"Concierge" is often referred to as "club level" or something along those lines at other hotels.

It's offered at the Deluxe resorts. You would ask for it when reserving your room.

The services offered and the cost will vary by resort, but it will generally run from $100 to $250 per night more than a standard room.

Generally, the concierge rooms will be in one general area. In some resorts these rooms are secured in buildings or on floors that only Concierge guests can access. There will be a dedicated Concierge staff who can help you with check in, billing, dinner plans and the like. This is often more convenient and "pampering" than standing in line at the main Guest Services desk for these services.

Also usually included are some light food offerings- a continental breakfast, light snacks or appetizers in the afternoons and evenings.

The services do vary widely by resort. You can get some idea of the cost differences and read some comments of previous Concierge guests at specific resorts at WDWIG.COM. Try this link: Concierge Services

Nice job explaining concerige Kathy. :)

The other nice thing about it is the pre-arrival itinerary planning.

The concierge will contact you (or you them) and they will book all your PS requests and they can get hard to secure reservations like Cinderella's royal table, or illuminations cruises.

They can help with special situtations, like birthdays or anniversarys and any other type of request you may have,

Three years ago, we checked into the GF and had requested a lagoon view. The young lady, out of nowhere, told us we'd be staying the concierge building. I politely told her that there was a mistake and that we had paid for a lagoon view only. She smiled, winked, and said "Don't worry about it." We couldn't contain ourselves.

We were on the ground floor and the food was literally 6 paces from our hotel room door. Needless to say, it was fantastic and a great savings.

Several people have asked me why I thought our family of four was granted such a wonderful upgrade. I have absolutely no idea. It was one of those magical moments we still talk about. If we fit some kind of profile, I hope we fit it again in January.

My family just reminded me - we were to have a garden view. Made the upgrade even nicer.
