We bought non-expiring tickets from UT and got a great deal on a 7 day hopper for $431.95 each. From what i understand when upgrading to an AP they can bridge to the current 7 day hopper price and then charge you the different to upgrade to the AP.

From what i gather now with the expiring tickets they only retain the value for what they were purchased for to put towards the upgrade. Do i have this right or am i totally wrong?

We have a trip in April and are thinking about a return trip next December so we would upgrade in April with the 7 day hoppers we bought.

I double checked and they do not have an expiration date -- so what would their value be -- what we paid or could they be bridged to the current 7 day hopper price?

or because i bought them from UT they only retain the value we paid?

I think either way it would make sense to upgrade as our Dec trip would be probably 5 days and we would want the hopper.

I bought some discount tickets through my workplace and then upgraded them to APs this past spring. I don't have the receipt with me but I'm fairly certain my upgrade cost included bringing them up to full priced tickets. In other words, the discount was lost.

I'm not 100% sure any more but I think that's what happened. Mine were current tickets, though. Not sure about the no expire options.

1. The actual cost to upgrade depends on WHEN those tickets were "created" by Disney and sold to Undercover Tourist.
2. Incorrect.
3. Sounds good.
4a. WHEN did you purchase the tickets from UT?
(I can tell you their value in upgrading based on more info you provide.)
5. Nope.
6. Correct.

4b. If, for sure, your UT do not have an expiration date (meaning that they were created by Disney prior to Feb. 12, 2017)
then your Adult 7-Day Hopper is CURRENTLY "worth" $467.54 in a "price-bridge" upgrade.
So, subtract $467.54 from the current on-line price (including tax) of the ticket (AP) that you WANT on the Disney ticket site HERE.
That difference price is the amount you would pay for the upgrade.
If there is a ticket price increase BEFORE you do your upgrade, this info may change.

There can be a major difference in upgrading based on exactly from whom you purchased your discounted tickets and/or how deeply discounted were the prices.
Some discounted tickets can be "worth" more in an upgrade transaction that others.
And, some discounted tickets cannot be upgraded at all.

WHEN did you purchase the tickets from UT?

These tickets were from Undercover tourist, it was one of their flash sales for a 4 day PH with 3 days free. It was purchased in June of this year. I double checked the ticket and there is no expiration listed on it. Paid $431.95 per adult ticket and $410.95 for child ticket.

There is a date on the ticket of 1/28/17

Is there any other info you would need to figure out their upgrade value?

The upgrade value @Robo already gave you is correct. Since it is a no expiration date ticket and was created on 1/28/17 it is only worth $467.54 toward the cost of an AP. It is from old stock and Disney knows that since it does not expire 12/31/18

Correct.
