Expiring Points question

We have a reservation at BCV for mid March that we might not be able to use. Some of the points are with banked points that expire at the end of August 2010. Can I use the expiring points for anything past the expiration date? (Ex- Cruise or a trade through RCI etc). Never used points in the past for anything except DVC resorts.

I don't think you can do anything like an RCI Trade with banked points.

And inside the system, you have to use them before they expire, not just set them for future use. (kinda like Southwest credits...have to use them before they expire, while Jet Blue credits allow you to just *book* before they expire)
