I'm currently sitting on five 4-day park hoppers with Max Pass purchased 10/2019 from Undercover Tourist which were originally going to be used Summer of 2020. Needless to say, that didnt happen and we were planning on using them summer of 2022. I wasnt really too concerned until I started reading through these threads and completely forgot about the fact that park reservations need to be made well before I arrive at DL from New Jersey and I cant just go to the ticket window and pay the difference. I intend to call Undercover Tourist but all over their site they say no refunds after 90 days. Were tickets with an original expiration date of January 12, 2021 get an extension? And now theres the issue of Max Pass going away but I saw some people requesting gift cards for Max Pass portion refund. I would be fine with getting a complete refund and starting over but Im not sure if Disney would do this if original purchase was from Undercover Tourist. Ugh ... I pray Im not out $1600 ... im sick over this! Any insight for my dilemma?

Thank you … I’m gonna need to figure something out and make some calls. We cannot use these tickets until summer 2022

You are welcome. I knew about this as I bought tickets in 2020 which had an expiration date of January 2022. My tickets have been extended to January 2023.

Best of luck to you :)

I think your best bet is to call the company and explain the situation. I think they'll likely refund your original tickets if you purchase new tickets through them. I had DL tickets that I purchased through them in Nov 19, and they refunded them in Jan 21 when I decided to change my trip to WDW. The max pass issue is a sticky situation. I doubt Disney would refund it when it was a 3rd party purchase.

Thanks … I called the company this morning and a refund was a def no go. They said the tickets are good forever and just take to window when we go. We may just hold out til DL reservation system goes away, which is rumored for 2023. That’s my biggest issue … going without a firm park reservation … don’t want to end up like Clark Griswold at Wally World!

Awe, bummer. I wish DL had taken better care of existing ticket holders through all this. They don't seem to understand/care how hard it's been to navigate it without being local.

I'd keep calling and see if you can speak to another agent who can give you a better outcome.

Instead of asking for a refund, which you already know they will say no, ask for what other possible solutions they might have?

You paid for a service, they need to offer you a better solution than "Just take it to the ticket window"...... especially when you live 3,000 miles from said ticket window.

I'd focus in on stating you need to make Park Reservations, Dining Reservations and just can't wait last minute on date of arrival to visit a ticket window. I'd also harp on that you are not a local and need to make these reservations months in advance since you're traveling cross country and they need to offer you a better solution.

Good points, thx. I’m gonna call DL ticket service number I found tomorrow to see about an extension … heard a few hv had good luck with this

the OP did not purchase directly from Disney, the OP purchased from an authorized ticket reseller.

When you call DLR, if the extension doesn't work, ask them if you can use it to apply to another date based ticket. Convert your soon-to-be expiring ones to new tickets with later expiration dates. You would have to pay the difference, but maybe that will work.

They tell you to do it in the park. So, maybe ask for escalation?

I understand that, but Disney could have, and should have taken better care of existing ticket holders. Even those who purchased tickets through authorized 3 party sellers. Disney could have allowed 3 parties to return tickets for refunds much longer than they did, and they could have made the process much faster and easier than they did. I was one of the lucky ones who got a refund through undercovertourist.com.

I have been round with Disney and the vendor that sold us the tickets in February 2020 for June 2020. No refund will be granted and everyone says not to worry, just bring the tickets to a ticket booth and they keep the value we paid. That's fine, except how so we make a reservation? I keep asking that question with no answer yet. The Disney agent did suggest we just buy new tickets to make a reservation and keep the other tickets for another time. I see that was suggested to someone else too. Sigh.

Note to everyone: Nothing against the company itself, but whenever another site comes on these boards to promote their business and have been told that they cannot do that, yet continue to do so, their name is added to the filter. Please do not get around the filter by using any acronyms. There is a reason why names come out like: https://www.*****************.com/

Disney doesn't set out the refund policy for third party resellers.

They affect the policies in that if Disney won’t refund the company, the company won’t refund the tickets. Disney is no longer refunding the resellers so those that did not purchase the tickets directly through Disney cannot get a refund.
