Expired LLs to book next one?

Hello! I think I outsmarted myself by booking 2 LLMP at Epcot before I know we will get there on our arrival day this Wednesday. I picked early times for two attractions we do not want to use a then chose another Tier1 once a LL expired. I just read in another post that an expired LL does not open the ability to choose a different LL. I watched a video that gave me the idea to book of expired LLs so now I'm confused.

Thanks for the help.

You're going to be stuck booking additional tier 2 rides in Epcot if you only let tier 2 rides expire and hold onto a tier 1 to use when you arrive. The system will only allow you to book another Epcot tier 2 when an existing Epcot tier 2 expires.

If you were present and redeemed one of the tier 2s then it would let you book another ride regardless of tier or park. Redeeming any LLMP regardless of tier unlocks all tiers and parks.

The current LLMP is similar to FP+ in that it rewards those arriving early and using the system. Late arrivals were much better with Genie+.

Was it an old video? Back in the days between when LLMP was announced and when it started, some of us (myself included) thought that letting any LLMP expire would lift tier and park restrictions. We thought we had found that loophole based on language on the Disneyworld website. But it never worked that way. As a general rule, until you actually tap in to an LLMP reservation, you are limited to one Tier 1 LL reservation and all your reservations must be in the park you purchased LLMP for. The only exceptions to this rule need the assistance of Disney cast members, as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the clarification! Our flight arrives around 11am. We have a 1:40 GoG LLSP and Frozen at 2:40. DD really just wants to also do Soarin and Living with the Land. Still not sure if we are going to have time to check into the Contemporary or just drive the rental car to Epcot to start our trip there.

OH! I thought it was a recent video by EarScouts that I learned about by reading through posts. I must have misunderstood.

Do you have any intentions on riding Spaceship Earth with LLMP?

I'd try to modify/book SSE before you plan on redeeming Guardians and just tap in at SSE as you walk past it on your way to World Discovery. This would allow you to book additional LLMP regardless of tier. Soarin' LLMP availability is pretty good on Thrill Data so I think you would be able to get one. It may not be an immediate return time, but you may be able to modify the time down while refreshing on the way to Guardians or in line. It would give you at least an hour priority compared to waiting to redeem FeA.

The only issue would be if you wanted to use LLMP on SSE you've now "used it" for the entire day.

Thanks for the reply. I like your idea. We don't have plans to go on Spaceship Earth. I grabbed Nemo one just to have a 3rd one with no reference to where it is. Just tried to get a SSE one, but earliest time is 3:40. I wonder if it's only offering me times based on my current schedule?

I've been able to stack my LLMPs for some reason. GoG 1:40; Living with Land 2:00; Frozen 2:40. I was hoping to go on Soarin and LIving with the land right after GoG before heading to the World Showcase area. My DD just announced she wants to Remy. I'm sure that's impossible without an hours wait since the LLs are no longer available.

LLMP does block availability you see by existing LLMP, dining, etc. There is a 20 minute overlap period when booking. You can check Thrill Data (https://www.thrill-data.com/waits/attraction/epcot/spaceshipearth/) to see the availability for your specific date. A 3pm return time could be possible close to a trip on an average or above average day.

People shuffle plans all the time so I would just keep refreshing the app to see if any availability shows up for additional tier 1s once you're eligible to book another.

Thanks! A 2:05 time kept showing up but I was not able to catch it. I even cancelled the one I had and tried again but it wouldn't give me that one so I thought it had to do with it being too close to another.

I think you might be mixing up two things:
1. If you let a LL expire, it will allow you to book your next LL even though you still have time to use that expired one (up to 2-3 hours on some reports) HOWEVER
2. Until you actually tap into a LL, you are still subject to the park and tier restrictions.

I can say from experience you must use your LL to unlock tiers. If you aren’t getting any good times now, try refreshing right before the 3-day booking winds opens and again day-of. A decent number of people have two Tier 2’s booked and then cancel the second one once they tap in and unlock Tier 1’s between 9-10.
