Expiration dates on points

Hi! I was wondering if when a member posts points for rent that expire on a specific date, does that mean the reservation must be booked and paid for by that date or the actual trip completed by the expiration date. ie: can points exp. 7-31 pay for a trip in August?

The trip must be completed by the end of the use year for those points. It sounds like the owner has an August use year, so the last night the current years points could be used would be for the night of 7/31.
