After trying to read a whole lot of info on different forums about this, Ive decided to try and trust that the room request I emailed to my dvc rental store was submitted for me. They told me they forwarded my request to the Member, and that the member put it in for me. I do understand requests are not guaranteed, but accommodated when possible. I had subscribed to Touring Plans & wanted to put in a request there as well as a back up, but now feel worried to do that after some posts Ive read. We rented a Poly lake view studio & want a 3rd floor room. Anyone have room request experiences they can share, when requested through a broker like this, not directly from the owner?

Do not submit additional requests since the one that the owner submitted should be enough. Going through touringplans will erase the owner's request, as will submitting a request during online check in.

FWIW, pretty much everyone with a lake view studio at the Poly wants a 3rd floor room. It's the most often requested location for that room category. There are only 72 lake view studios, only 24 are on the 3rd floor. Make it your only request and maybe you will get lucky.

Well, it certainly depends upon the resort and the type of request made. I has a poly lake view on the second floor. It was fine. We were close to the stairway on the end of the building, so only used the elevator when hauling luggage or doing laundry. Second floor was fine, and had a great view. So you'll likely enjoy your trip even if you don't get 3rd floor. Given that 1/3 of the lakeview studios are 3rd floor, your overall odds are likely 33%, but that depends upon how many other 3rd floor requests they receive, probably closer to 45%-50%

As far as getting my requests, when I travel to OKW, I get my request most of the time, I guess about 75%, but again that depends upon what may be going on at the resort as far as renovations or rooms out of service for maintenance.

As marionette said, since you have made the request through the DVC Member, (which really is the best way, IMO), do not make another request using Touring Plans or the online check-in, as it will override the DVC Member Services request.

Odds of getting 3rd floor are, AT BEST, 33%. It really depends on how many guests are checking out from 3rd floor on the day you are checking in.

Renters have the same chance of getting a request as owners do.

Thank you guys! This is making me feel a little more confident about not submitting the Touring plans request as well. I did see a lot of people say another request might override the first one. My only concern was that I dont have a way of actually checking with Disney that my request was really submitted! Im big on confirmation lol! Id actually be fine with 2nd floor too, Im just hoping for not 1st floor. Not even just because of the view lol, my husband has a thing about ground-floor rooms 😂😂
