Experiences with Late Check-In

We will be checking into BWV around 11:00 pm. on a Friday night early in November. Does anyone have experience with late check-ins...how did you make out? We have reserved a preferred view room and requested Quiet Pool...

We checked in a little after 9 PM on 8/16 at OKW. We had three requests made at the time of reservation and noted on the confirmation.

Two out of three. Not bad. Normally we get to WDW about noon.

We usually arrive pretty early most trips. But a couple years ago we did arrive at BWV around 10pm for a 4-day weekend getaway. We did get the non-smoking that we requested. But our "preferred" view was of the back half of the building of the DVC offices. We asked if there were anymore 1-bedrooms available, but there weren't any that were non-smoking. It wasn't too big of a deal for just a few nights, but if I were there for a week or more I probably would have kept asking.

I checked in to BVC at 11:00 pm and was given the option of a smoking room or a handicapped room. We took the handicapped room. I would save your expensive Friday points and stay at another resort overnight and have them move your luggage the next day when you check in bright and early.

We checked into the BWV 9/11/03 at 10:00 p.m. We got all of our requests and they even showed us a chart and let us pick our room.

We checked in at midnight last year and it was one of the best check-ins ever. Smoothest transaction ever. From the flights, to baggage, to Mears, to DVC check-in, everything was so much better because it was a slow time of day. As far as getting our requests, we asked for non smoking and we got it. It was really dark and we were tired and went almost right to bed so it was great to wake up in the am to look out and see where we were. It was kind of magical. Don't worry, there are no bad rooms. Did you mention to MS that you will have a late check-in. I have a little fear of them giving my room away thinking we are a no show so I made sure to let them know. Happy planning!

Back in June, our flight was changed so we were checking in at 12:30am! Very smooth check-in. We got our boardwalk view and had time to get a pizza before calling it a night.

Thank you all so much... I'm excited to be checking in on a Friday night..usually we check in early Saturday or Sunday. This way we get a head-start on our vacation. We wil check in and head to ESPN for a late snack...counting the days!!
