Can anyone tell me their experiences (good/bad) with Alamo at Sanford/Orlando Airport? This is our first time flying into Sanford - couldn't resist with $118 RT air from Allentown. Were their long lines at the counter? Any info would be appreciated.

We used Alamo at Sanford a little more than a year ago and had no problems. It was a short walk from baggage pick up to the counter and then a short walk to the cars. The line at the counter went quickly.

We like Sanford Airport very much. Hope you have a great time.

Glad to read the reply from the poster above. We will be using National (shares counter space/cars with Alamo) at Sanford this Sunday. With the old Disney Club code and coupon - it was cheaper to go through National for a minivan. For some reason - Alamo wasn't offering one, only cars while we are there? There are seven of us, so we need the van!

The price was definitely right - but I will miss my Emerald Aisle & Emerald Reserve. I assume I will have to take whatever they give me, hopefully it will be a good sized van, and will be in good shape!

I will post when I get back on the 17th and let you know!

I used National for a trip in August and had no problems. They stayed open late for me and allowed me to drop keys off really early in the morning since my flight left before they opened. Angel was the guy who stayed late. If you can, find him. He was great.

Thanks for all the replies!

CRCrazy...have a great trip - I will look for your report!

Reading the post about Alamo at MCO makes me nervous. I hope we don't get pressured at Sanford to purchase the insurance.

I did not realize that Alamo/National share a counter/cars in Sanford. I received a much better deal with Alamo.

MM I was thinking the same thing. I reserved our ALAMO rental yesterday for Sanford. I got a terrific rate and I am very excited.

JAP...I have talked to some friends that fly into Sanford and they said the rental car lines are never that bad. Let's hope for the best. My rates into Sanford and rental car rates are GREAT rates so I think even if we have to wait, the money saved is worth it!

I agree about the rates. Flying into Sanford is way cheaper than MCO. I just hope Southeast is ok. I have never flown with them and I am a little nervous with it being winter and the possibility that they own older planes.

Ok I will stop thinking about that now!:o

Have a good trip MM. We are leaving on 11/28 and returning 12/3. I hope to bump into some DISers while in the World!:bounce:
