experiences w/united out of BDL/

i've never flown any airline besides Delta but... Southwest hasn't released our dates yet (what are they waiting for???) United flies out of BDL in CT with a stop (about 1 hr) in DC. The price is the outside of what I'd settle for - about $275 per person. Any insights would be appreciated.

We are also planning to fly United BDL-MCO - next February. Just wanted to mention that there is a coupon in the Entertainment Book if you are flying prior to Dec. 31. I believe it is for $25 off one rt ticket $150-299. I have no idea how easy/difficult the coupons are to use.
