Experiences converting Interval International points to DVC

Hello! Not sure this is the correct sub forum to ask this but my family has timeshare points through Embarc (previously Club Intrawest). Before we dive in headfirst into an Interval International membership, how does the conversion process work? Does anyone have any experience with the inventory available through II?

DVC just switched from RCI to II on January 1, 2022. There probably have not been enough DVC owners who have exchanged their points into II to get a real feel for inventory just yet. If it works anything like RCI did, you will see mostly 1BR villas at SSR being deposited into II inventory.

You'll likely have to ask Embarc as the conversation rate between your system and II might be unique to your system.

I'd expect a path of two choices:
a) Deposit First (trade a specific week)
-- or --
b) Confirm First (trades a set number of Embarc points for II Inventory based on Unit Size, Season and, possibly Quality.

If you have these choices, Confirm First gives you greater flexibility in that you do NOT have to commit any of your Embarc resources (points or week) until your trade is confirmed. On the other hand, Deposit First might allow for upgrades (snagging a 1BR unit from DVC against a high-season Studio from Embarc??).

Good luck!

Indeed, there are a good number of SSR 1BR units, right now, available for exchange. Check-in dates run from June through Sept.

Edited to add: I counted 16 check-in dates offered. Could have multiple units for any given date?

Edited again to add: I'm using a "Confirm First" manual search against Worldmark the Club (a mini-points system).

Thank you all! Is there a way to search available inventory without being an II member yet?

You might want to ask those questions on the TUG discussion boards. There are a lot of people over there who own both DVC and other timeshares.

Thanks, what are the TUG boards?
Timeshare Users Group - this is the link to the forums. Both the Exchanging and the Disney Vacation Club boards have threads about II, and if you create a login as a Guest you can read and post there. If you spend $15 to become a Member, you can read and post to the Sightings board, which is updated almost daily recently with DVC availability seen in II.

Hi! I don't know if you are able to search available inventory without being an II member; I don't think so- but maybe? I am an interval member through Hyatt and we also just purchased DVC - but I'd never deposit my VGF points into II. The majority of properties through Interval International are not the same level as Disney (or even Hyatt) and since my family is only able to travel in high demand times- getting something we actually want through Interval is highly unlikely. I stick to trading within Hyatt and using my DVC points for our own trips. And if we were unable to travel one year, I'd sell my points before depositing into II.
