Experiences at Windsor Hills AND Bonnet Creek?

Has anyone stayed at both Windsor Hills and Bonnet Creek? I'd love to hear a comparison. We just returned from a stay at a Windsor Hills townhouse and we really loved it (and the price!), but I am intrigued by Bonnet Creek for a future stay (although I would miss a private splash pool and parking right at our door). We drove past BC when going to DTD and I was impressed with how close it seemed to be to the parks.

We aren't even planning to go back to Disney for at least 3 years and we just got back yesterday....yet here I am on the DIS anyway!!!

We stayed at All Star Music on our last trip and we also passed by Bonnet Creek while on a bus to Downtown Disney and we were pleasantly surprised by how Bonnet Creek is actually within the WDW gates :goodvibes. We are also considering both Windsor Hills and Bonnet Creek for our next WDW trip and it is going to be tough trying to decide between the two.

I'd love to hear a comparison.
Windsor Hills is like having an uncle with a (very nice) house in a gated community that happens to be a stone's throw away from the main WDW entrance. Homes have private pools, usually a hot tub, separate bedrooms for everyone, etc. Townhomes have (small) private "plunge pools". Extremely private, almost to the point of being a little isolating. There is a main pool with a slide that people gather at, but when we've stayed there either in a town home or pool home, we didn't visit it that often.

Bonnet Creek is a "resort"---high rise condo buildings, lots of activity, and several very nice common pools with a couple lazy rivers, a pool slide or two, mini golf, etc. etc. It's not as private as Windsor Hills, but a little more is going on.

So, the way to pick between them is based on what sort of vacation you are looking for. When our kids were younger, the convenience of having a pool *right there* was a huge win for us. Now that they are a little older, we prefer the "resort model" a little bit more---they can meet and hang out with other tweens/teens at the pools, etc.

We've stayed at Windsor Hills many times and will be back. Stayed at Bonnett Creek once and likely won't return. BC was OK, but here were the negatives for us compared to WH:
  1. Cost more
  2. uneven air conditioning between different rooms with no apparent fix available
  3. unbalanced squeaky ceiling fan with no apparent fix after several calls (we eventually fixed ourselves by taping a trading pin to the appropriate fan blade)
  4. Having to park relatively far away and walk to condo compared to out front parking at townhome or house at WH

We were in a one-bedroom in June with only DH and I. We never use resort pools, but occasionally use our private pool at WH, so that's another item in WH favor for us.

Nothing major, but for us WH is a better fit! I completely recognize and respect that it's different for others.

We did a split stay between WBC and Windsor Hills last year. I rented a 4 bedroom home in WH. Although it was spacious, I missed the resort feel of WBC. I also did not like that the owners seemed to come by a lot. There were a lot of issues with the house, and although the owners came to fix them, we had to deal with the owners and workmen being there. It was annoying and I felt I had little privacy. I think it all depends on your preferences.
