Just wondering if any DVC members have had experience with Disney transportation to the ESPN WWoS complex? I'm pretty sure I have seen the destination come up on busses along with Downtown Disney. My son has a competition there in Feb and I would prefer to just use my points to stay in a studio vs whatever host hotel they come up with. Trying to avoid renting a car but not sure how reliable bus transportation will be to and from the complex. I have read that they typically only run busses when there are events going on, but is that from every resort?

Thanks for any info.

From what I've read in the past, WWOS busses depart from DHS and the team hotel(s)
..which makes it sound like an EPCOT resort would be your best bet on DVC points

But allears says:
TRANSPORTATION -- Bus transportation to ESPN Wide World of Sports is available from Disney's All-Star Resorts, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Pop Century Resort on a limited schedule: Thursday - Monday 5 - 11 p.m. These buses will also run when events are taking place at the Sports Complex one hour prior to Sports Complex opening until 11 p.m. or Sports Complex close, whichever is later.

During the scheduled operating hours, buses from Disney's All-Star Resorts, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Pop Century Resort to ESPN Wide World of Sports will arrive at the Sports Complex on the hour and half-hour.

If that is the case, then walking from BLT to the MK bus stop and take the first bus to any of those resorts. (You could still do the same thing at DHS from BWV but its a farther walk)

If those resorts share WWOS with DTD (like water parks share with Parks) then SSR might work (except the East side walking path is closed)

Do you think it would be expensive to take a cab from BLT to the espn wide world of sports?

I did Atlanta Braves Spring Training earlier this year and the buses to ESPN ran from Pop, Caribbean Beach and All Star's Resorts. The Pop Century bus is the closest to ESPN and that bus also goes to the Caribbean Beach. You really have to be patient with the buses going to ESPN. I didn't find that they ran every 20 minutes like the WDW buses do. Also, when the event got out, there was a long wait for a bus to leave the facility and even when it came it had to wait in traffic like everyone else. I think they had more buses going to All Star's, but that is the furthest resort out. I'm not sure whether they also have buses going from other hotels, but we had cheerleaders on our buses who were in a competition.

Probably around $25 plus tip.

Cab would be worth it, IMO. If you have to utilize resort buses, it could take 60-90 minutes, due to the waiting time for the buses. Cab would be closer to 15 minutes.
