Hi Perla! I did WW on-line about 5 years ago and my DH and I both lost about 40lbs!
Unfortunately we've both gained it back, plus some, but that is not WW fault, we stopped following the plan.
We are back on now, the WHOLE family and doing well. We've been going about a month now and each of us is losing 1-3 lbs a week
It is easy to use, but can be time consuming. The time is worth it, in my opinion. If you join you should spend a lot of time clicking around and figuring it all out. You are supposed to type in your food/pts for each day. I sometimes do this and sometimes don't. I'm getting to where I know the pt values for most of the stuff we eat so I just get close, not counting every point. One thing I like is they have "Menu Ideas" that give you a full week at a time of menus, breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. I do not follow it, but I do take ideas from there. The menu ideas include simple, fast recipes. They also have lots of other recipes, that can be more involved.
I think its worth the $. I have to have something to motivate me and this does. If I get stuck I can get on-line and get help. If I'm going out to eat Thai food I look at WW on-line and find out what my best choices would be.
Basically, it teaches you portion control, fat content control, good nutrition. Nearly all of the recipes I've tried we like. I make soup and send it in my sons' lunchboxes.
They actually have two ways you can do it. You choose one, but you can change to the other at any time. There is the Flex Plan and the Core plan. Flex is what we do. It is counting points. You get a certain # of pts per week, based on your weight. I'm around 210 and I get 25pts a day. You also get 35 extra pts every week, that you can divide by 7 and eat daily, or save for a splurge on the weekend. Lots of people use the extra to cover alcohol and the occasional dessert. The core plan, as I understand it, has a list of foods you can eat, and you can eat as much of them as you wish (within reason I'm sure). Then you also get 35 Points to spend on foods that are not on the list. It seems people have good luck with both plans.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any more questions and good luck on your journey to a healthy lifestyle!
