I had to split our party into two to get a Tusker House breakfast at the time I wanted. We have a 10:10 for 3 and a 10:15 for 2.

How likely is it they can put us together or at least nearby? I want to be nearby to take pictures with the characters.

1) It all depends.
2) The ASSIGNER (person walking around with the handheld computer) determines your table, not the podium person (SEATER).
. . . the ASSIGNER selects the table(s), and it is printed-out at the podium person (SEATER)
. . . the SEATER takes you to the table on the printed ticket
3) You may or may not be seated near each other. *

* NOTE: There is a larger and legal concern. per the UNION CONTRACT, each SERVER has "x" amount of tables at each eatery type. So, if you SERVER is max'd out, you get assigned to another SERVER, who could be next door or across the room. So, it is not just an easy question to answer. remember, you are a guest, but there are employee UNION CONTRACT RULES to follow.

If it's important to you (as appears to be the case because of the character photos) to be seated together, I would keep looking for another ADR for all of you.

No guarantees you'll be seated together.

While the castmembers will do their best to put you at one table there is no guarantee, so keep looking for a reservation for 5 because currently you are scheduled for two separate tables. If there are no reservations for 5 you can try for 6 and if you are successful, you will not be charged for the "missing" 6th person as long as at least one person shows up for the reservation. Do not try looking for 4 because every person needs to be included.

Yup, right now I’ve got 4 and 2 (I put 2 in case my hubby doesn’t want to eat alone). I’ll keep looking though! Probably can get one once FPs come out and people have to switch around.

I’m under the impression that Tusker House will always honor this type of request. Tusker House seems to have a policy of always accommodating larger parties regardless of the reservation. Even if you only had one of those reservations, they’d let you all in.

This is not the case for other restaurants at Disney. TH seems to be the only one with this policy.
